😎 Hi! I’m Yanxi Zhang (张雁熙). My english name is Michael, which I have been using it for over ten years!

🌱 I am a third-year M.S. student at Wangxuan Institute for Computer Technology, Peking University, advised by Prof. Dongyan Zhao. I am also a research intern at Shanghai AI Laboratory, advised by Dr. Chaochao Lu. Before that, I received the B.Eng. degree from School of Big Data and Software Engineering, Chongqing University in 2023.

🍃 I am currently focusing on (human-like) causal reasoning and its applications in the era of large models and multimodality. Here are some core problems I’m thinking about:

• In vision-language contexts, how to (uniformly) represent causal relationships and define causes? How to align existing systems with human causal cognition?
• How to apply the idea of causal reasoning to frontier vision-language-based domains, such as embodied intelligence & robotis, (causal) world models, and AI4Science?

Previously, I have also focused on information extraction, e.g., understanding the relationships between events in documents.
